Our Team
The Bravura management team is made up of seasoned professionals who have a reputable track record in building and managing successful software companies. Having worked together in previous ventures, the management team brings over 100 years of business acumen, operational leadership and product development experience to Bravura.
Ashok Samuel, President and CEO Bravura was founded in 2004 by Ashok Samuel, a serial entrepreneur. Before starting Bravura, Ashok was the founder, President and CEO of Wishbone Systems, providing a comprehensive Field Services Management system that addressed productivity of the mobile field force. Under his leadership the company recorded significant revenue growth of 300% through strategic corporate alliances and the implementation of large scale enterprise solutions. Wishbone was acquired by Indus International (now Ventyx), a publicly traded software company.
Prior to his founding Wishbone Systems, Ashok was SVP at Applied Business Technology (ABT), makers of Project Workbench sold over 150,000 licenses worldwide. ABT was acquired by Niku which was subsequently acquired by Computer Associates.
Ashok received his Master of Science in Computer Science from Baruch College, New York and his Bachelor of Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. In 2004, Ashok was honored as one of “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” by The Asian American Association.
Ashok is also a philanthropist and is the Chairman of a private charitable foundation that supports and operates orphanages in developing nations.
Sean P. Gallagher, VP Business Development Prior to joining Bravura, Sean ran the partner program in the East for BEA Systems (acquired by Oracle in May, 2008). His responsibilities included the solicitation, enablement and sales execution of VARs, resellers, specialized partners and alliances.
Sean was also part of the management team for Wishbone Systems, which provided a comprehensive Field Services Management system that addressed productivity of the mobile field force. He was instrumental in recruiting partners and establishing Wishbone as a major OEM provider to other ISVs. Wishbone was acquired by Indus International (now Ventyx), a publicly traded software company.
Sean also had a variety of sales roles at Applied Business Technology (ABT), makers of project management software. ABT was acquired by Niku which was subsequently acquired by Computer Associates.
Sean attended St. Joseph’s University, a Jesuit member institution of higher education, where he double majored in Management / Marketing Science.
Colleen Terry, VP Marketing Colleen has more than 19 years experience in marketing and selling innovative solutions to small and large businesses alike. Prior to Bravura, Colleen held VP Marketing and Channel Management positions at several venture and private funded technology companies.
As VP Corporate Marketing at Surefire Commerce (now Optimal Payments TSE: OPMR), Colleen was responsible for corporate branding, product positioning, press relations and creative development. Colleen also held senior marketing and business development positions at MangoSoft (OTC: BB: MGOF), CLEAR Software (acquired by SPSS, Inc.), Lotus Development, and Applied Business Technology.
Colleen received her Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on innovation management from Syracuse University, where she also received her BS in MIS and Marketing.
Colleen is an active volunteer, assisting in fundraising efforts for local and national healthcare organizations including The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden.
Maria Kavita, Director of Product Management Maria has over 15 years of experience architecting and building scalable, robust, commercially viable enterprise software. Prior to Bravura, Maria was the Director of Product Development at Indus International (now Ventyx) a publicly traded software company, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of the mobile workforce management and scheduling software.
Prior to Ventyx, Maria was Chief Architect and a member of the management team at Wishbone Systems, which provided a comprehensive Field Services Management system that addressed productivity of the mobile field force. At Wishbone, Maria successfully led the transition of Wishbone's products to web based multi-tier architecture, which increased the adoption and usage globally.
Maria graduated from Mt. Carmel College, Bangalore University and Harvard University DCE with honors in Computer Science.
Alan Akselrad, Director of Sales-National Accounts Alan has over 20 years of sales experience focusing on providing strategic opportunities for businesses to enhance their product offering and add new revenue streams. Most recently, Alan saw a need to bring innovative solutions to conference organizers as a means to improve customer loyalty, while expanding their customer base.
Alan holds a degree in Business Management from State University of New York at Buffalo.
