ASHOK K. SAMUEL, Founder, Chairman, President and CEO, brings to SCF over 15 years of business and operational leadership experience in the software industry. A seasoned veteran with an extremely successful record in building profitable businesses, Ashok is also known for his professional ethics.
Ashok is currently the founder and CEO of Bravura Technologies, a leading provider of event management solutions.
Prior to Bravura, he was a Senior Vice President at Indus International, a leading software company in the service delivery management market. Ashok joined Indus upon its acquisition of Wishbone Systems which he founded in 1993.
As President and CEO of Wishbone Systems, he fostered significant strategic corporate alliances and built software solutions to address productivity improvements in service organizations. Under his leadership, the company recorded a significant revenue growth of 300% over the last three years, and expanded the customer base to over 150 worldwide.
Prior to his founding Wishbone Systems, Ashok was responsible for the development of Applied Business Technology's (ABT) Project WorkbenchTM. Project Workbench was a very successful project management software package that sold over 150,000 licenses worldwide.
Ashok received his Master of Science in Computer Science from Baruch College, New York and his Bachelor of Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
In 2004, Ashok was honored as one of “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” in the United States, by Asian American Association.
Dr. Prem K. Samuel, MD, FACS, FCCP, Director of Samuel Charity Foundation
, Dr. Samuel is an experienced Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeon who has performed many complex procedures at multiple hospitals during his career. He has been practicing in the Kansas city metro area for the past 12 years. In 2011, he received America’s Compassionate Doctor Award. He also received the Patient Choice Award four years in a row, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Dr. Samuel is board certified in General surgery and Thoracic surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a member of the Society of Vascular Surgeons, a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and a member of the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society.
Dr. Samuel completed medical school, one year as a House Surgeon, and three years of Post graduate training in General Surgery at the Madras University in Madras, India. His surgical internship was at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY. He then completed surgical residencies at SUNY Health Sciences in Syracuse, NY and at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas, NV. He also completed an accredited fellowship in Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. He completed a year of surgical basic science research at the University of Rochester Medical Center and he worked on long-term hypothermic storage of explanted hearts.
During medical school, Dr. Samuel won many awards and medals for proficiency in Anatomy, Pathology, Forensic medicine, Surgery, and in Social and Preventive medicine. During his post graduate training, Dr. Samuel won awards in Pediatric surgery and was awarded the Governor’s medal for excellence in surgery. He is a published author, has multiple papers and has been a presenter at the American College of Surgeons.
